The Animated Series' Showrunner Has Seen Your Second Season Predictions — And She Has Positive Updates

The highly-awaited second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on the streaming platform soon, and audience theories has been rampant.

The first season introduces a large cast of characters residing in the afterlife, sets them at odds with musical numbers about their clashes, and establishes tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that drive audience devotion.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season differ greatly, but certain themes emerge over and over: Will Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the binding agreement affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Obviously, I don't produce the show with fan service as the main goal," the showrunner stated recently. "But I believe that me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by the production companies, which produce the series.

That might mean viewers have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how quickly season 2 progresses, and how many of what they're waiting for unfolds now.

"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some really amazing reveals, some fascinating backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — particularly in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a couple people create a prediction grid about the new season," she says. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've already completed a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on the streaming service on October 29.
