Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions come after a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Police detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault close to the scene. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Police were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals injured by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.

The assault - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
